Purpose
The Potatoes New Zealand Sustainability Award recognises individuals, organisations, or initiatives that demonstrate outstanding leadership in promoting sustainable practices within the potato industry. This award celebrates efforts to minimise environmental impact, promote responsible resource use, and support the long term health and resilience of New Zealand’s agricultural sector.
Eligibility
- Who Can Enter
Open to individuals, teams, or organisations involved in the potato industry in New Zealand, including growers, suppliers, and other industry stakeholders.
- Membership
Nominees do not need to be members of Potatoes New Zealand, but they must be actively engaged in the potato industry, ie. an employee of a member.
- Timeline
The sustainability initiative must have been implemented within the last three years.
- Geographic Scope
Nominees must be based in New Zealand and the activity should benefit the country’s potato industry.

- Submission Process
Nominations can be submitted online via the form at the bottom of this webpage.
- Who Can Nominate
Nominations can be submitted by members, trade members, associate members, colleagues, mentors, industry peers, or by the nominees themselves from the potato industry.
- Required Materials
- A clear description of the sustainable practices or initiatives, including the scope, implementation, and outcomes.
- Optional media such as photos, videos, or supporting case studies.
Decision
- Final Decision
- The judging panel’s decision is final, and no correspondence shall be entered in to.
- Winners will be announced and recognised at the award presentation during the Potatoes Conference.
