Third weekly update on psyllid traps
Status as at 10/12/2010: Status as at 10/12/2010: Data has been received from Mid Canterbury, Manawatu and Hawkes Bay this week, and Waikato data has been updated to the week ended 3 December. Tomato potato psyllid numbers remain low in these regions, with an average of 1.2 psyllids per trap in Hawkes Bay, 0.6 per trap in Canterbury, 0.25 per trap in Waikato and 0 in Manawatu. Numbers of “other psyllids” remain high in Canterbury and are increasing in Hawkes Bay and Waikato.

Each week Potatoes New Zealand reports on the number of tomato potato psyllids (TPP) and other species of psyllids in the psyllid traps to help growers monitor and control for the potato tomato psyllid. Traps are localed in Pukekohe, Waikato, Hawkes Bay, Manawatu, North Canterbury, Mid Canterbury and South Canterbury. Numbers of tomato potato psyllids (TPP) and other species of psyllids are reported.
