NINTH Weekly update on psyllid traps for 2012
Below are links to the graphs and data tables for the National Psyllid Monitoring Programme.
Status as at 10th February 2012.
Psyllid numbers in Pukekohe at site A continue to increase from an average count of 8 TPP/trap (27th Jan) to greater than 11 TPP/trap (3rd Feb). Two of the traps at this site recorded 19 and 29 psyllid respectively. Monitoring data just received from the Ohakune site indicated no psyllids present. No data was received from Hawkes Bay - Site A (tomatoes) for this week’s reporting period. Previously an average 56 TPP/trap were reported for this site. Psyllid numbers Hawkes Bay site B remain at low levels, while psyllid levels at Site C have increased from an average of 5 to 29 TPP/trap. Psyllid numbers at Manawatu A site continue to fluctuate, and numbers have increased slightly (average < 8 TPP/trap). Total trap counts from Mid and South Canterbury sites show psyllid levels range from 0 to 15 TPP per site. Psyllid numbers for all regions remain at lower levels than previous years.

Each week Potatoes New Zealand reports on the number of tomato potato psyllids (TPP) and other species of psyllids in the psyllid traps to help growers monitor and control for the potato tomato psyllid. Traps are localed in Pukekohe, Waikato, Hawkes Bay, Manawatu, North Canterbury, Mid Canterbury and South Canterbury. Numbers of tomato potato psyllids (TPP) and other species of psyllids are reported.
